#N90T
The challenge starting January 1, 2012 is to spend 90 days reading through the New Testament. Set aside 30 minutes a day to do this. Over the course of 90 days you'll see the life of Christ, how the Holy Spirit did amazing things in and through people, how the church got started, how we are supposed to live as individuals and as a community and much more.
Think of it as P90X for the New Testament.
There is a guide above to download. It shows what books to read during what week. I have also the number of chapters listed. You can divide each week by chapters (ie Matthew has 28 chapters. 28/7=4 chapters each day) or pages (count number of pages/7 days=number of pages each day). The first 5 weeks are the most intense. Also, finishing as prescribed finished in 12 weeks (84 days). There are days build in for when life gets busy and you miss.
How? Simple...
- Read.
- Write. One thing from the reading that stuck out.
- Think. Why did that stick out?
- Pray. How does God want you to integrate it into your life?
- Do. Actually integrate it.
Often goals and resolutions aren't met because of doing things on our own. Use this blog/internet community to challenge, inspire and encourage yourself and each other. Tweet. Put on your FB updates. Comment here. Use #N90T when you say something. That way we can keep up with it.
If you come to this after January 1, start when you find it. There is nothing magical about starting it that day.
Imagine writing a new story for you, your family, your community that is built on hearing from God and doing what he says.
