Be the Vessel of God in Babylon
Carry the death of Jesus inside you to show off the all-surpassing power of God at work inside you.
When God is done using his vessels in a foreign kingdom…he will bring them back.
The vessels were tools used for the sacrifices of worship. No tools…no sacrifice…no worship.
Now we are the tools…instruments..which carry the sacrifice of Christ inside of us…
2 Corinthians 4:7: We are jars of clay to show the all-surpassing power is from God.
Romans 6:13: God will use us as instruments of righteousness, if we let him.
Philippians 2:17 & 2 Timothy 4:6: Paul was being poured out like a drink offering.
Romans 12:1-2: We are living sacrifices. And this is our spiritual act of worship.
The tools God uses are not the church building, our own righteousness or some political ideology. The tools God uses is his Church. His people. People who sacrifice themselves to Hear & Follow him.
God will use you to carry the death of Jesus. Always being afflicted, crushed, perplexed, but not driven to despair. You will be a vessel poured out as a drink offering for the sake of Jesus and his Kingdom. He will use you as an instrument of righteousness in the world around you.
God let the vessels of his temple be carried to Babylon. And he used them to bring himself glory. But he also carried the vessels of his people to Babylon to use them for his glory: Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
Now, you model Daniel and his friends living out God’s righteousness as citizens of God’s Kingdom and ambassadors to the kingdoms of this world on behalf of God’s Kingdom.
As you also hope for the restoration of his vessels in the New Heaven and New Earth.
What do you do with the upcoming vote?
Vote your Kingdom conscience as vessels of sacrifice before God.
Know whomever is voted in on earth…God is still on his Throne in Heaven.
Know whomever is voted in on earth…God is still with you on earth.
Love both sides.
Pray for both sides.
Serve and benefit both sides.
And tear down neither side.
Food for thought…
What do you need to change for this political cycle?
This ISN’T “what do you need to change in someone else.” This is “what do you need to change inside you.”
Or better yet, what does God need to do inside of you this political cycle?
How can you love, pray for and serve both sides?
How can you lead your church to be vessels of sacrifice to advance his Kingdom to the world around you?
