God wants to bring his Kingdom down into your family so you can take his Kingdom to the world.
Take these from Mark 1:
God is close to your family.
Believing causes repentance.
Show others God is close to them by serving.
How does this impact your family?
God is close to you and your family. He also wants to be close to you. What do you do to draw near to him?
Do you spend time in his Word and prayer?
Do you ever lead your family to come close to God through his Word and prayer?
Do you prioritize worship with community? Not going to church. Coming close to God through corporate worship? Is it important to you? Or do you come rushing in late and leave immediately after? Or do you spend time with his people in relationship?
When you see Life in your soul in some other way other than in God, do you repent? Do you confess? Do you turn back to God who is right there already?
Do your kids know the gift of repentance? Or do you expect them to be perfect? Do they know God is close through all behavior? They learn the actions of God from you. Do you remove your presence just because they’re not behaving how you want?
Does your family ever serve others so they can know God is close to them? Do you serve in your church to make those who don’t know him realize God is close? Have you spent time serving the least of these?
God doesn’t want you need you to be perfect. He wants you to know he is close to you.
God wants your family to be a who is a kingdom outpost. Building into your family the character and values of his Kingdom so you can give into others.
