To rejoice always is God’s will for our life. So what do we rejoice?
Rejoice in salvation.
Rejoice in suffering.
What about stuff? If God gives it, aren’t we supposed to be happy about it?
The Old Testament gives us more insight to rejoicing about Gods gifts.
First, we go to Ecclesiastes 5…
“One who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor one who loves abundance with its income. This too is futility. When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them? The sleep of the laborer is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the full stomach of the rich person does not allow him to sleep.”
Ecclesiastes 5:10-12 NASB2020
What is celebrated gets repeated. Because our brain relates hormones which make us want to keep coming back to it.
When we celebrate money, possessions and wealth, we set ourselves up for addiction to the things of life.
We want more. How much is enough? Usually a little more than what we have.
This is danger.
We can consume all we have or we can hoard what we have. All ends the same…
Someone who isn’t satisfied with what they have.
You want a better way…
