Know Your Role
John knew his role in the Kingdom. Bring people to repentance so that the Spirit can be the one to light them on fire.
Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire
Luke 3:16
You can lead people to repentance. And I hope you do.
But that’s all you can do.
You are not the Source of Life in people’s Soul.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are.
John the Baptist knew his role in the Kingdom. He brought people to repentance. Repentance is vital. It is how people are able to have the Holy Spirit in them.
Bringing people to repentance is about removing the obstacles so people can see Jesus and want to repent.
You aren’t the Holy Spirit who convicts and burns off the bad to leave the holy.
Pray like crazy for the Spirit to use you to bring people to repentance.
Pray like crazy for the Spirit to light people on fire in a way only he can.
