Live an Oddly Beautiful Life
We live in a culture which demands their own rights be met above all else. Giving of your life, even to your enemies, becomes an oddly beautiful life to those around us.
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you
Luke 6:27
America was founded upon the basis of individual rights.
This isn’t wrong or right. In fact, there is more right than wrong in this value.
Where the value goes wrong is when we demand our individual rights above all else.
We think our soul will find satisfaction when our rights are fully met. But what happens when your rights clash against someone else’s rights?
They become an enemy.
And what does Jesus say about how to treat our enemies?
Jesus is the source of Life in our soul and his Life leads us to advance his Kingdom.
Giving of yourself instead of demanding your rights will lead you to find Life in Jesus. Living this way is a testimony to the world Who you trust above all else…including your own rights.
The world around you wants something more than demanding their own rights. They want a life that is sacrificial. But they don’t know any other way. So it looks really odd to them.
When you are truly desperate for Jesus and Hear & Follow him to find your hunger fully satisfied, you no longer need your rights to be satisfied. You can truly give of your life to your enemy.
And live a life that is oddly beautiful to those around you.
