Never Use Stories in Preaching?
What is your drive in your preaching? To be impressive? Or something else...
And when it was day, he departed and went into a desolate place.
Luke 4:42
In the search for God’s authority in preaching, do you not use stories or humor or commentaries?
Absolutely not!
These are not your go to for your authority.
Jesus told stories.
Jesus used humor.
Jesus expounded on the meaning of the Scriptures.
He made God and his Word accessible to those who didn’t think they could access him.
But his first move was always to be tied to his Father.
And his teaching and ministry came from his relationship with his Father.
Your Hear & Follow relationship is your drive, not to be impressive, or even to have authority.
