Old Thinking v. New Thinking
Jesus condones you transforming your thinking about your weekly service because he wants your church to show God has always been Immanuel.
And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’”
Luke 5:39
Old thinking = I must get my way to God.
New thinking = God came to me.
If you have old thinking, you cannot attend or throw Sinner’s Parties.
If you have new thinking, you view yourself as the one who takes God’s presence into Sinner’s Parties.
You can transform how you view your weekly service. Jesus condones you transforming how you view your weekly service.
He wants you to have an environment where those far from God are comfortable around you. You can have a service people enjoy and want to be there. Including, and especially, those far from him.
Because ultimately, you’ll point the people who show up to the God who was always Immanuel…
God with Adam and Eve in the Garden.
God with Abraham.
God with Moses.
God with his people in a pillar of cloud and fire.
God with his people in the Tabernacle and Temple.
God with his people through Jesus.
God with his people through the Holy Spirit.
And God with everyone through his Church.
Create a new wineskin of thinking so that you can lead people to realize the God who always wanted relationship and never wanted rules.
