Rejoice Over Production
God had Israel take a week to rejoice over the production they were able to do.
What can we learn from the 3 festivals?
Feast of Booths
“You shall keep the Feast of Booths seven days, when you have gathered in the produce from your threshing floor and your winepress. You shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your towns. For seven days you shall keep the feast to the Lord your God at the place that the Lord will choose, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.”
This festival rejoices over the production the harvest brings. Harvest is picking the grapes. Rejoice. When you produce the wine from the grapes. Rejoice.
You may not farm. But you want to be productive. Do you celebrate when you are productive?
For our family, we decided to use our vacation to celebrate what God did for us over the past year. What if you did the same? Don’t go some where different. Just use the time you spend together and focus some time on what God has did for you over the past year.
Lead yourself and lead your people to celebrate the productivity God has given to you. Don’t take it for granted. Rejoice!
