What does God want you to rejoice about?
Can I confess something I’ve struggled with?
One person prays for a healing, gets it and says, “God is good!” What about the other person who prayed for the same healing and their loved one dies.
Or someone prays for a job. They get it and says, “God provides.” And yet another prays for a job. And waits. And waits. And waits for theirs to come.
Or one that comes close to home in my ministry life. One pastor prays for some numerical success. And God provides abundantly more. I pray for God to work in success and crickets.
What does God want you to rejoice about?
“The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.””
