The Desolate Place
Leadership isn't following results. It is knowing the purpose for God's Church and leading his people there, no matter what you see.
And when it was day, he departed and went into a desolate place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them, 43but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.
Luke 4:42-43
People were coming to Jesus.
People were finding healing.
People wanted Jesus to stay.
In prayer, he knew when it was his time to leave.
This is not a post about when it’s “God’s will” to leave your current church for a church you think is better.
This is a post about not doing something just because the results are good.
Jesus did based on what he heard.
Not what he saw.
His purpose in the town was over. He knew his God-given purpose. And he followed.
Even though staying where he was would keep producing results.
Leadership is not following the best trends.
Leadership is not following where the results say go.
Leadership is Hearing & Following Jesus and leading others to where he is taking your church.
Leadership is knowing the purpose for his Church and taking his bride in that direction.
Leadership in God’s Church is taking the time to Hear from Jesus and doing based on what he says…not what you see.
Have you found time to get away and just seek God for the direction of his people, no matter how hard that direction is?
