The Well Off Weep
Weeping is not a sign of weakness. It's a sign God has put a soul level burden on you to see his Kingdom heal something that is broken.
“Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
Luke 6:21
Weep = Weeping as the sign of pain and grief for the thing signified.
The well off have it all together. They never have to be burdened, mourn, weep. That’s what the world wants you to think. Even church world.
Church leadership can desensitize you to the need for gut wrenching burdens.
Often it’s the gut wrenching burdens that is the God-given ministry drive inside our soul.
Also, this weeping is personal.
Do you mourn over how you eagerly desire to use the created order to fill your soul instead of Hearing & Following Jesus to fill your soul?
Even the religious things.
Do you have pain and grief for the “thing specified”?
Either your own ability to fill your soul.
Or your God-given burden to overcome the brokenness of this world with the Life of Jesus.
One day, you will laugh. Laugh because of the Joy welling up within you.
The Joy that comes because of the freedom you find from the created order because of what Jesus is doing inside of you.
The Joy that comes because of the freedom others find because of your pain and grief over the burden Jesus put deep in your soul.
The well off in Jesus’ Kingdom are burdened. Burdened enough to lean into the pain and grief over the brokenness they see in themselves and the world around them.
