Why Does God Save Us?
God saves us so we can serve him. And serve others. With boldness, holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives.
Why does God save us?
So we can serve him…
Without fear.
In holiness.
In righteousness.
All of our days.
As a people, we have an undertone of our lives that says, “Sure, he’ll save me. But for the rest of my days, I still have to serve him with fear.”
Ok. Let’s handle the whole, “fear of the Lord” thing right off.
“Fear of the Lord” is a deep respect that leans into the relationship. It doesn’t keep the relationship at arm’s length.
Once God saves you, you serve him without fear. To serve God without fear is to serve him with boldness. Because the God of the impossible saves you, you now serve him (which is the same as serving others) with boldness because he can do the impossible in your life and everyone else’s life around you.
Once God saves you, you now serve him with holiness. You are a saint. You are set apart for a purpose.
God will lead you to a unique service which impacts people for his Kingdom.
Once God saves you, you now serve him with righteousness.
He removes your unrighteousness and replaces it with Christ’s full righteousness. Now you can be his ambassador giving away his complete righteousness to others.
Ministry is not something you do on your own. God comes on you and completely changes you.
Yes, even you who grew up in church.
Yes, even you who didn’t grow up in church.
Everyone wants boldness, holiness and righteousness.
Everyone wants to live a life of boldness, holiness and righteousness.
God gives these to you in equal measure to Christ who is sitting at his right hand.
Lean into his boldness, holiness and righteousness all the days of your life so that others can know their lives can be marked with these qualities only God can give.
