You Pray So...?
Fill in that blank. Why do you pray? And what do you expect to happen after you pray?
And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.
Luke 6:19
If you pray so that big crowds will follow you, you miss the point of prayer.
You pray so that you can make decisions and have the power of God with you so that you can minister to those who seek out God.
You pray so you can bring along disciples to teach them how to Hear & Follow Jesus.
You pray so you can grow these disciples to be fishers of people too so that more people can be forgiven and healed.
You pray so you know where God is advancing his Kingdom through you.
If you want a ministry where Sunday’s come and Sunday’s go without any evidence of anyone being forgiven or healed…
You don’t really need prayer.
If you want a ministry where Sunday’s come and Sunday’s go and you are exhausted from all the people who are finding forgiveness and healing because they are Hearing & Following Jesus...
Then you need prayer to…
Ask the God of the impossible to give the strength in the impossible.
Ask the God who sees only what he can see to show you what he sees.
Ask Jesus who else can come alongside to do the impossible with you.
Ask the Spirit where else and who else you are to advance the Kingdom into.
And you need prayer to ask a million more things because it’s all bigger than you can ever handle.
